One of the top Bobbi Brown makeup artist Cassandra Garcia shares her favorite product
Cassandra did my makeup and her final touch was this beautiful light powder. The kind of product that you can use throughout the day for touch-ups without feeling like you’re adding too much and worrying about the cakey look, and just a great last touch that brings that translucent natural glowing look.
Lexa goes to Cape Town
Hi everyone!
It has been a long break but for a reason. I’ve been traveling, and the city I ended up in for the next 5 weeks is Cape Town!
Amazing, huh? The real end of The Earth (besides New Zealand).
Not very good news, but it is pretty hard to find a good internet connection here. It took me a week to find a decent wi if service which I am using right now. The internet that comes from cellular providers is also pretty slow. So if you will be traveling to CT, this is something to think about.
This place is amazing!! I’m here for work/holiday. I wanted to enjoy the place and get some rest from hectic New York that is getting cold right now while doing my favorite job. There could be no better deal.
I will share pictures and more details on Cape Town’s city life later, but for now few sneak pics from the shoots I’ve done here and some scenery.
Best to all, good luck and great mood! XO
And this is a public swimming pool if you can believe it!

Hi From Sri Lanka!
I made it to Sri Lanka for a yoga retreat where I also celebrated my recent Birthday.
Absolutely incredible place. I love the rhythm of it, the easygoing feeling but not a lazy one. Seems like everything is working and is getting done but in a very light-hearted manner, besides driving (you better not look at the road when in a car or tuk-tuk to spare the worry or look carefully to prepare for an accident if one is to come). Delicious food. Fresh fruits, fish. The best tuna I ever ate. Me and the group of my friends and other yogis are mostly getting meals at the Villa De Zoysa which is excellent and they try to do their best and give us variety every day, but one time I ate outside was good and fresh and cheap.
The sea is beautiful but often shallow which I’d say is a good thing. Different beaches have different waves and currents, some are good for surfing they say and some for swimming. The beaches are really stunning.
Here are some pictures from Villa De Zoysa, Galle, where the retreat is located, and the trip to tea plantation/factory.
Update From Sri Lanka 🌸
With a friend, we went to get saree, and had a dress up dinner with other girls on our trip (group picture is coming later as I am waiting to get one myself :))
Then, I wanted to share my new passion – surfing. I had only three lessons so far, but absolutely love it! And if you haven’t tried it yet – you should! It isn’t as difficult as it may seem from a far.
Also, we went with our group to Peace Pagoda. You can see in the pictures below, different poses of Buddha. You can read about the origin of Peace Pagodas around the world here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_Pagoda
And, we went to see the garden of Geoffrey Bawa, famous Sri Lankan architect. I will be honest, although it was quite interesting and beautiful, if you are to have two-hour ride there and back on a hot day I’d suggest to skip it. But if it’s no trouble for you to get there, please go in and enjoy the beautiful private fields and amazing views ;)
Love and Sun to Everyone! 🌸
Visiting Local School in Sri Lanka
Today we went to see the school that grandfather De Zoysa started from De Zoysa family which villa me and friends are staying at for our yoga retreat.
The school is run by a Dutch organization as I understood, but Devinda De Zoysa is continuing the family tradition and bringing volunteers to teach English to the little ones.
The school is neat and well organized, has a lot of sun and space, even it’s own garden. The kids are all wearing white uniforms and little ties and the atmosphere is friendly and happy. The moment I entered the gates of the school two girls grabbed me by the hands and brought me into classroom where me and my two other friends stayed for a drawing class. Under teacher’s and ours supervision the kids are allowed to put stickers on their drawings, otherwise they tend to stick them anywhere, even on themselves (as all little kids do). I got a bunch of stickers in advance preparing for a visit and it was fun to watch all the different attitudes kids had. Some were begging for the stickers, one girl even stole some and put it in her backpack, and others (most of them) were working diligently on their drawings to earn and deserve the stickers for their work.
Skincare routine Shiseido Benefiance review
Wrinkle Resist 24 Balancing Softener Enriched is really an amazing moisturizing product and works great when applied under the eye area before the eye cream as well as on the whole face before applying the cream. Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Eyes is good, but again works best with the softener. When applying both I really could notice the results, under eye area became moisturized and more smooth, some wrinkles from dryness disappeared in a matter of few days. Wrinkle Resist 24 SPF 15 is also good, very soft and moisturizing, also gives a bit of glow. But, I must say, some of its glow as with many moisturizers containing SPF was making the skin look oily, esp. on the forehead (T-zone). I decided not to proceed with a cream after a month of usage. While using it I found that applying Guerlain Meteorites after the cream as a face powder worked perfect and the face was really glowing getting the best from the cream. And the last product from Shiseido Benefiance line that I’ve tried is the Extra Creamy Cleansing foam which I absolutely loved. It gives a thorough cleanse and is soft to touch and pleasant to use. When applying I’d give myself a little face massage as it felt wonderful using this foam.
The products all have been tested for more than 28 days.
